Bush Survival

What is the S.T.O.P acronym for survival?

S is for stop as sone as you realise now one is around you.
T is for think about the situation.
O is to look at the surroundings.
p is for planning of what to do like come up with how to make a shelter.


How to find clean water?


  • When you go hiking in the bush make sure you bring a filter just in case there is now clean water.
  • When it ran's maybe you could bring a bucket for the ran to go into so you have clean water.
  • make sure the river our the stream you are drinking from is clean.  
How to build a shelter?

  • To build a shelter you need flat and dry ground.
  • Make sure you build your shelter away form a river our a stream.
  • Make sure you use the right knot to tie the string our what ever you found.
How to make a fire in the bush.

  • To build a fire you will need dry wood because wet wood will not light.
  • A fire is really good for signalling people because of the smoke
  • If the fire gets out of control then it is good to have some dirt our water there to stop a bush fire from happening.

 Basic First Aid.

  • It is really good to bring bandage's and plasters for when someone gets hurt.
  • Before you go into the bush you could ask your Dad our Mum about first aid and how to rap a bandage.
  • If you are a kid out there and your Dad is hurt our your Mum is hurt don't be afraid to help them because they are relying on you to help.


Signalling for help.


  • You could use fire and smoke to signal people.
  • Write Help in stones in a clear area.
  • Call for help if you have a phone.
